Project Virgle

One of my hero’s, Sir Richard Branson, Founder of the Virgin Group and Virgin Galactic, along wth Larry Page and Sergey Brin, founders of Google, today announced the jointly ventured Project Virgle.

Project Virgle is dedicated to the establishment of a human settlement on Mars.

Mars

To start the process one has to take one of Google’s famed personality questionnaires (I passed with flying colors…not to give away hints… but answer honestly the questions about how you win at backgammon and your affinity for eating algae)

Assuming you have the right stuff and you pass the questionnaire you are then invited to enter in an application video after viewing welcome video’s from Sir Richard Branson, Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

I have entered in my application video and have received an enthusiastic early response (The UK is 9 hours ahead of the US West Coast this time of year) from a staff member at Virgin Galactic!

Although I will have to end up missing my wife’s planned tupperware party with her friends next month, and will end up missing the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series later in this Century…it will be worth it. A chance to further humanities mission on Mars!!!

Now it is your turn, to join me and about 120 other pioneers for humanity …. Put in your application today!

    Ameed,

I was ready to sign up and start eating algae dude….up until time that you mentioned the Chicago Cubbies winning the World Series later this century.

That is An April Fools joke if anything (Cubs winning World Series in any future century) so you got me up to that point

Even my hip hop blog Highbrid Nation had to report on project Virgle. If it is indeed real, then it is huge and is major in the area of space exploration. However I fear that it is indeed and elaborate April Fool’s Day hoax. I guess we’ll know for sure if announcements continue after today. Personally I’d love to see the two companies team up considering what they already have done with the Lunar X Prize and Virgin Galactic.

Good One :-) You should look over on the forums they have up for Project Virgle on Google. Some people are actually mad that this was a prank.

If we do get to Mars those folks should get a one way ticket

Thanks for the comments and taking the article in good humor. Will have to think of a way to outdo Google next year though:)
